Apply for that Business Grant with Confidence

I’ve worked with incredible business coaches and grant-writing experts. Here are four essential tips to implement on your journey:

  1. Research the grant organization and make sure you have all the information needed to complete the application like the Profit and Loss statement, your traction (your brand’s growth and impact), business expenses, your 1-3-5 Year plan, and even references sometimes. Remember, from all the needs your business has, identify which need the grant you’re applying for will solve.

  2. Your elevator pitch should be clear, concise, authentic, and powerful. Make sure to have fun and be confident with your elevator pitch! Share the problem you're solving with enthusiasm, describe the exciting market opportunity, present your innovative solution, explain why you and your team are uniquely able to accomplish your goals and outline your exciting plans for using the grant funding.

  3. Stay ready - so you don’t have to get ready! Not all grants require a video, BUT, consider having a powerful video that showcases your unique business and why you deserve the grant. Storytelling is powerful!

  4. Don't forget to include your social media handles and let’s not forget LinkedIn 👀 to help establish trust with your audience. Remember, keep it natural, easy, and showcase your work - and most importantly, let your passion shine through!

You got this. Now, go get funded.
